PostHeaderIcon Weird Washington DC – Wednesday Weirdness

So, to show me around town while I was visiting Washington DC, my cousin took me to a Bastille Day celebration. I found this lovely lady partying outside L’Enfante Cafe in the Adams Morgan district. She was so weird, I couldn’t resist.

For those new to the show, this is how it works: Look at the photo, contemplate a caption, and post your caption in the comments. Easy peasy! I will then pick the one I liked the best. That person gets the opportunity to pick next week’s weird photo. So keep those captions coming!

Here’s my attempt (as said by my alter ego, Sidney Ayers):

Look! It’s Lady Gaga’s long lost twin!!

Have fun!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness — We got goats!

Okay, with Tessa Dare’s newest release due out next Tuesday, Twitter has been abuzz with mention of goats and boats. We can only speculate exactly as to what part these goats play in the book. I’m thoroughly curious, though. Although, I am more curious about Sophia and Gray, of course! I just hope the goats aren’t  doing something like this:

Feel free to leave a caption in the comments for a chance to win both Goddess of the Hunt and Surrender of a Siren when it is released next Tuesday! (PS: Yes, you still have to click the refresh button to the right of the captcha code to get the text box to show up)

PS: Here’s a hilarious video I discovered when searching YouTube. I decided to post it as a link instead, because of strong language and a gratuitous butt cheek scene. So if that isn’t your sort of thing, you may not want to click the link. Still funny as all get out though: GOATS ON A BOAT (Not starring Samuel L. Jackson, Unfortunately)

Happy Wednesday and good luck to all!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness – Tentacle Lovin’

Well, guess what guys and gals? Yep. It’s already Wednesday, can you believe it? I’ve got another weird cover for you. I came across this while searching for an avatar for my twitter profile during last week’s installment of #romfail. For those of you who are scratching your chins in bemusement, #romfail is the hashtag used on twitter where @jane_l tweets a poorly written romance novel and everyone else tweets their thoughts. The best description I’ve seen is that it’s Mystery Science Theatre 3000 for romance novels. Last week’s book involved a hero that was a shapeshifting octopus. I kid you not!

This cover comes from the Super Magician comic, circa 1947. Is it just me, or is this reminiscent of those crazy Japanese adult cartoons? The ones that involve tentacles boldly going where no tentacle has gone before.

Have at it, my friends. Leave your captions in the comments (As usual, you may need to click the little refresh button to the right of the code to get the text box to appear). I’ll pick which ever comment I like the best. That person will get the opportunity to choose next week’s photo or weird object.  So get cracking, so we all can crack up.

Cheers!

PostHeaderIcon This Week’s Wednesday Weirdness Winner!

Wow! I can’t believe I forgot to post the winner from Wednesday. It was so hard to just choose one. This week’s winner is Rob Charron! Congratulations Rob. Please email me your photo by next Tuesday. Make it as weird (but tasteful) as you want.

Thanks everyone for stopping by!

Hugs!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness – How to Moon Your Neighbors

Well, here’s today’s installment of Wednesday Weirdness. Often imitated, never duplicated. Accept no substitues. Thanks to Brynna James, one of my Romance Roundtable partners in crime, for supplying this picture.

Here’s how it works: Look at the picture… make up a caption and leave it in the comments section. The funniest caption will get the opportunity to post next week’s weird photo which will be available on Romance Roundtable, where I post Wednesday Weirdness every 1st Wednesday of the month. I’ve got a great prize lined up for one lucky commenter next week. Here’s a hint: Music! Please stop by!

PS: Yes, the captcha code is still bonkers. Hit the little refresh button to the top right of the code and it should allow you to type.

Here’s my attempt!
Landscaping???? I call this moonscaping!!

Have a fun and, of course, weird Wednesday!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness — Cover Art Edition

When I came across this book cover, I just couldn’t resist. This book was published around 1925. So here’s how it works… Look at the photo, come up with a caption. Then, post your caption in a comment. I’ll have someone pick the best one. The winner will get the opportunity to supply their own weird photo next week.

NOTE:My captcha thing is still wonky. If you don’t get the box to type the code, hit the refresh button on the upper right hand side. The box should then appear.

Here’s my attempt:

“New era, indeed!”
or
“I can’t quit you!”

Have fun and enjoy your Wednesday!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness — Weather edition!

So I usually find *really* bizarre and weird photos for Wednesday, but I was instantly drawn to this picture for the sheer beauty and of course timing of this photo. I am not a photographer, but I do remember a guy I used to work with who was an avid photographer. When I asked him how he got some of his lightning shots, he said he used a time-lapse camera. It sounded very difficult and time consuming. So here is a new side to Wednesday Weirdness… The weird and beautiful. Enjoy! Feel free to add your captions and comments as usual :) And if you can make it funny, BONUS! The person with the best caption gets a chance to pick the photo for the next installment of Wednesday Weirdness in two weeks. Sorry, but I’m going to DC next week and decided that I needed to curb my weirdness while in the attendance of agents and editors. I’ll be back in my usual weird form on July 22nd.

Okay! Here’s my attempt (And since I can’t help but be funny):
“No leprechauns were harmed in the taking of this photo.”

NOTE: When leaving your comment, you may need to hit the refresh button to the upper right of the code. Certain browsers and the captcha box do not work well together.

Cheers!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness — Writing may be hazardous to your health

Only when you use this pen…

So here’s the drill: leave a caption in the comments. Be as funny, serious, creative as you want. The main goal is to have fun. Today, I’m actually giving out a real prize. One lucky, and completely random, commenter will receive a $10.00 gift card to an online bookstore of their choice.

NOTE: You may have to refresh the captcha box so it lets you type in the code.  Technology, sheesh!

Here’s my attempt:

“For those smokin’ hot scenes….”

Have fun! I’ll draw the winner Thursday night!

Oh, and check out Romance Roundtable today to check out a weird recipe for Kitty Litter Cake. Great fun for the little ones.

Cheers!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness has returned – Ring all your friends!

Well, I took a couple (much needed, i may add) weeks off from blogging. My dear kitty, Smokey, has been sick with recurring bladder problems and my mom broke her foot. I’ve been busy redesigning my website and blog, so they match the beautiful business cards and bookmarks I had printed for RWA National in Washington DC. I’ve also been frantically trying to put the finishing touches on Unleashing Your Inner Sex Demon, so it’s ready for the agent pitch I’m scheduled for. Add in some contest entries to judge to that mix, as well. So, clearly, you see I’ve been busy.

But I am stepping up to the plate again and am ready to continue springing  forth my weirdness to the entire world.

So without further ado, I present the most interesting use for a lobster I’ve seen in a while…

I’m too tired this morning to think of a caption to start things off. I know there are a lot of crazy creative people out there who know how to make people laugh, so don’t be shy! Leave your caption in the comments. If you have trouble with the captcha box, just click the refresh button for a new code. I’ll pick the caption that I feel is the funniest, and give that person the opportunity to spread the weirdness with a photo of their own choosing next week.

As always, have fun!

PostHeaderIcon Wednesday Weirdness – The Christmas “Toy”

Imagine my surprise when someone found this buried in a bunch of boxes in the basement. I really can’t say anymore, so I’ll just let the picture do the talking. Have fun. I nearly peed my pants at the sight. Because nothing says “Merry Christmas” better than… well you get my point. Have fun everyone!

santa1Here’s mine!

You want to put me where???

Keep those captions coming! Remember, the winner gets to pick next week’s weirdness.
